EQ

Returns TRUE if the first number equals the second number, otherwise FALSE

Syntax:

EQ(numberOne, numberTwo)

You could use "=" instead, either way works.

Example:

If numberOne contains 2 and numberTwo contains 2:

EQ(2, 2) or 2 = 2

returns TRUE

If numberOne contains 3 and numberTwo contains 2:

EQ(3, 2) or 3 = 2

returns FALSE

Quality Control Inspection

An EQ (Equal) function is commonly used in quality control and data validation to check if a specific condition is met.

Imagine a manufacturing company, "Widgets Inc.," that produces a particular type of bolt. The quality control standard for this bolt dictates that the length must be exactly 50 mm. A quality control inspector takes a sample of bolts and measures their lengths.

The company wants to quickly identify which bolts pass the inspection (i.e., have a length of 50 mm) and which ones fail.

An EQ function is perfect for this task. It compares the measured length of each bolt to the required length (50 mm) and returns TRUE if they are equal, indicating the bolt passed, and FALSE if they are not, indicating the bolt failed.

Function: EQ(measured_length, required_length)

measured_length: The actual length of the bolt measured by the inspector.
required_length: The standard, specified length (in this case, 50 mm).

For each bolt, the function compares the value in the "Measured Length" column to the value in the "Required Length" column (which is 50 for all bolts).
